WHEREAS, in the proposal for updating the 1969 Civic
and Convention Center Master Plan, Mr. John Beyer of the firm
of Beyer, Blinder and Belle, has recommended that a traffic
analysis be made by the firm of Wilbur Smith and Associates to
study and recommend a solution to the automotive traffic circula-
tion problems ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Miami Beach and its inhabitants to employ the firm of Wilbur
Smith and Associates ; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared for the employ-
ment of Wilbur Smith and Associates for a fee based upon costs
and multiplyers not to exceed $3,000; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has approved the agreement
as to form, and the City Manager has recommended that the City
Council enter into the same; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
is familiar with the provisions of said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk and Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the said agreement in the name of and on
behalf of the said City, and the disbursing officers of the City
are hereby authorized and directed to disburse the monies required
by the terms of said agreement from funds of the City available
for such purpose.
