WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach was not only contrac-
tually bound, but also proposed as an additional inducement to
the two major political parties during their National Conventions
held within the City in 1972 that prompt, efficient and dependable
transportation would be supplied, and be otherwise available to
all delegates, their guests, the press, and for the general public,
and
WHEREAS, the fulfillment of these contractual commitments
and representations made by the City of Miami Beach posed and pre-
sented a transportation problem of the first magnitude, and pre-
sented a challenge of enormous dimensions to the City of Miami
Beach, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, after appropriate study
and analysis of all qualified organizations to assume the serious
responsibility involved in making such transportation facilities
available, MR. WARREN BINDER and his organization were selected
to perform these transportation responsibilities, and
WHEREAS , the said MR. WARREN BINDER and his organization
not only met all their contractual duties and responsibilities to
the City of Miami Beach and to the respective responsible repre-
sentatives of the two National political parties, but also rendered
transportation services and facilities of unsurpassed excellence
under the most punishing and severe demands and conditions at all
hours of the day and night, including the hazards, potential as
well as real, incident to the holding of said political conventions,
and
WHEREAS, the superlative praise and encomiums received by
the City of Miami Beach from the respective Convention Chairmen and
their Staffs are attributable in great part to the exemplary excel-
lence of the transportation facilities furnished and made available
to both National Conventions by the said MR. WARREN BINDER, and
WHEREAS , the outstanding success which MR. WARREN BINDER
achieved in fulfilling the needs and demands of the said conven-
tions for appropriate transportation was the product of countless
hours of unremitting labor and tireless devotion to his task, and
WHEREAS, the said MR. WARREN BINDER, throughout the stress
and strain involved, maintained a steadfast courtesy, equanimity,
and cordial cooperation not only with the appropriate officials of
the City of Miami Beach, but also with their respective counterparts
on the staffs and committees of each of the said National political
parties , and
WHEREAS, it is meet and appropriate that the said
MR. WARREN BINDER and his organization be given suitable apprecia-
tion and commendation for the performance of their duties and
responsibilities in the transportation phase of the Democratic
and Republican National Conventions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself and for the citi-
zens and residents of this community that the said MR. WARREN BINDER,
his staff, and each of the members of his organization are hereby
officially praised and commended for their superlative performance
in meeting the transportation demands of said political conventions

in such mode and manner as to reflect the greatest credit not
only upon themselves, but also upon the City of Miami Beach,
its Council and its Administration, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this resolution be spread
upon the official minutes of this City Council, and that a
suitably engrossed copy thereof be presented to the said
MR. WARREN BINDER, for himself and for his Staff and Organiza-
tion.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of MARCH 1973 .
