RESOLUTION NO. 73-14053
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of constructing
two new bridge structures, each approximately 165 feet long,
crossing the Normandy Waterway along Biarritz Drive and North
Shore Drive in the vicinity of Section 3 and 10, Township 53
South, Range 42 East, Dade County, Florida; and,
WHEREAS, in order for the City to construct and place
into operation such bridge structures, they desire to employ
the services of a consulting engineering firm to prepare the
necessary design plans and technical specifications ; review
and approve shop drawings ; and provide observation during
construction; and,
WHEREAS, POST, BUCKLEY, SCHUH & JERNIGAN, INC . , a Florida
corporation, a licensed Consulting Engineering firm in the
State of Florida, with its principal office in Dade County,
Florida, is willing to accept such employment; and
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement setting forth the terms
and conditions of said employment has been prepared and
approved by the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the residents
and citizens of the City of Miami Beach to enter into said
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Council that said agreement be entered into, and the City
Council being familiar with the terms and provisions of
said proposed agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the
Acting City Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and
directed to execute the said agreement in the name of and
on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, and the disbursing
officers of the City are hereby authorized and directed to
disburse the monies required in accordance therewith.
