What's New
The City of Miami Beach Office of Capital Improvement
Projects (CIP) is improving the entrance to the
Biscayne Point Neighborhood with the following tasks:
• Installing landscaping and an irrigation system in
the swales and medians along South Biscayne
Point Road, west of the bridge up to the Noremac
Avenue intersection (see highlighted area, right)
• Altering the existing columns to become a
consistant height; new, decorative lights will be
added on top of the columns
• Installing uplights in the median
• Renovating the entrance monument
• Upgrading the existing guardhouse with a new
metal roof, windows, fresh paint and floor tiles
• Modifying the fence at the four corner properties
adjacent to the bridge
The monument will serve as a pleasant greeting to
all at this community's entrance. When complete, the
project will be beneficial to the whole community as
these aesthetic enhancements to the neighborhood
will welcome residents and visitors for years to come.
Schedule
The work will begin on Wednedsay July 12, 2017.
Work will occur during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to
6 p.m. Please note this schedule may change due
to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Extended work hours are subject to City approval and
homeowner association notification.
What to Expect
• Pedestrian and local traffic access will be
maintained throughout the neighborhood.
• For temporary periods during the work day, access
may be reduced to one lane (shared in and out) as
construction takes place in the other lane.
• In such instances, flagmen will be onsite to direct
traffic and ensure safety.

La Oficina de Mejorias Capitales de Ia Ciudad de Miami
Beach (CIP) Ilevara a cabo un proyecto para embellecer
Ia entrada a Ia comunidad de Biscayne Point con las
siguientes mejorias:
• Instalacion de nueva vegetation y un nuevo sistema
de irrigation en los terraplenes y zanjas a lo largo de
South Biscayne Point Road, al oeste del puente hasta
la intersection con la Avenida Noremac (por favor vea
al area destacada en rojo a la derecha de este aviso)
• Modificaciones a las columnas existentes a una altura
consistente; nuevas lutes decorativas se ariadiran en
Ia parte superior de las columnas
Instalacion de nuevas luces de enfoque para realzar
los terraplenes
• Renovation del monumento a Ia entrada de la
comunidad
• Mejorias a la caseta del guardia con un nuevo techo
de metal, ventanas, piso, y una nueva capa de pintura
Modificaciones al cercado en los alrededores del
puente (en las propiedades bordeando las esquinas
de este)
La renovation del monumento a Ia entrada de la
comunidad dara una agradable bienvenida a todos. A su
culmination, este proyecto beneficiara a la comunidad ya
que este embellecimiento recibira a todos los residentes y
sus invitados en los anos venideros.

Esta obra comenzara el Miercoles, 12 de Julio del 2017.
El horario de trabajo se Ilevara a cabo desde las 8AM
hasta las 6PM. Por favor tenga en cuenta que este
itinerario puede cambiar debido a clima inclemente o
circunstancias imprevistas. El horario
de trabajo podria extenderse y su aprobaci6n esta sujeta
a la Ciudad con previo aviso a Ia Asociacion
de Propietarios.

• Acceso a transeCintes y trafico local sera mantenido

• Durante Ia obra y por tiempos limitados en dias

SUBJECT: Biscayne Point Island Entrance E ` hancement
LETTER TO COMMISSION
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform the Mayor and Commission that the Office
of Capital Improvement Projects will commence construction at the entrance to the Biscayne
Point Island Neighborhood on July 12, 2017.
The work will take place along S. Biscayne Point Road from Hawthorne Avenue to Noremac
Avenue. The enhancements include modifications to existing columns, renovations to the entry
monument, enhanced landscape and up -lighting, guardhouse improvements, and additional
decorative lighting.
The project construction will take approximately three (3) months. While the project is in
progress, there will be occasional lane closures with flagmen directing traffic as per approved
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans. Please note that access to the island will be maintained at
all times.
The attached fact sheet is being distributed throughout the neighborhood via e-mail and door to
door distribution.
