A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE
OUTSTANDING MATERNITY, NEO-NATAL, AND PEDIATRIC
FACILITIES OF MT. SINAI MEDICAL CENTER, AND
SUPPORTING THE CONTINUANCE OF THOSE FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City of Miami
Beach Commission that Mt. Sinai Medical Center is considering
closing its maternity and neo-natal facilities; and
WHEREAS, Mt. Sinai Medical Center is the only hospital
facility in Miami Beach which has active maternity, neo-natal and
pediatric facilities to service the residents of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, maintaining such facilities is vital to the
growth and prosperity of the community of Miami Beach and further
insures the progress the City is currently attaining in attracting
young people and their families to our city; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach supports Mt. Sinai in
its efforts to provide high quality medical care to all facets of
the community and recognizes its positive impact as a full service
medical center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED that the City of Miami
Beach urges Mt. Sinai Medical Center to continue to provide
maternity and neo-natal services and facilities for the future and
well-being of the City of Miami Beach.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1983.
