Ordinance 555 ORDINANCE NO. 555 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF W. E. (JERRY) GIRARD TO PURCHASE FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, THAT PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE LIBERTY AVENUE FIRE STATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: WHEREAS, on the 5th day of April, 1939, there was submitted to the City Council, the following pro- posal: "Miami Beach, Florida, April 5th,1939 City of Miami Beach Miami Beaeh, Florida Attention: City Clerk: Gentlemen: In compliance with your letter of March 7th, 1939, and followed by your letter of March jOth, 1939, asking pro- posals on the property known as " �he Twenty-Third Street Fire Station" , fully described in the above mentioned letters, and in accordance with all rules and regulations contained therein, copies of which are attached. I wish to submit the following proposal of Thirteen Thou- sand ( $;3,000.00)Dollars; Thirteen Hundred ($1300.00)Dollar Cashier' s Check is attached to this proposal and shall be termed earnest money. If I am the successful bidder it shall be understood that the City is to furnish me with a survey and show the prop- erty lines clearly with four stakes. Sealed proposals will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Miami Beach until 10:00 o'clock A.M. , April 5th, 1939, for the purchase of that property known as the Liberty Avenue Fire Station, situated on the east side of Liberty Avenue, approximately two hundred feet north of 23rd Street , Miami Beach, Florida. Terms of sale will be 10% cash or certified check to accompany proposal, the balance to be paid within forty- five (145) days from delivery of abstract showing merchantable title to said property, or subject to the terms and con- ditions of Section 26 of the City Charter. The City reserves the right to full possession, use and control of said premises until September 1st, 1939. he City- further reserves the right to remove from said premises all pumps, engines and other pumping equipment, either attached or unattached, and other articles of per- sonal property. Licensed brokers with offices in Miami Beach sub- mitting the successful proposal will be paid the usual five (5%) percent brokerage fee in the event the property is sold and the transaction finally closed. Supplementing our letter of March 7th asking for proposals for the purchase of the Liberty Avenue Fire Station property, this is to advise that this property is described as follows: A piece of land, 59' x 180' , located in Block #3, of the Miami Beach Improvement Company's Ocean Front Property, recorded in Book #5 of Plats, at Pages #7 and #8, described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 12, in Block 3, run thence a distance of 591 southerly along the westerly line of Lot 12, parallel to Collins Ave. , to the northerly line of the property marked "Wireless Sta- tion" on said map, thence extending westerly and parallel with Twenty--third Street, and 151' distant from said Twenty-third Street, 180' to the easterly line of Liberty Avenue, produced northerly, thence northerly along the east side of Liberty Avenue, produced northerly, a distance of 59' and thence at right angles easterly and parallel with Twenty-third Street, a distance of 1801 to the point of beginning. D. , 1939, and that said ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
