Ordinance 625 ORDINANCE NO. 625
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289 OF SAID
CITY, BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, ELIMINATING GASOLINE AND OIL
FILLING STATIONS THEREFROM, RE-DEFINING AND
RE-CLASSIFYING SERVICE STATIONS, AND RE-
DEFINING THE TERM "SERVICE STATION", AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section No. 1 of Ordinance No. 289, be amended
by eliminating therefrom;
"GASOLINE AND OIL FILLING STATIONS:
A structure or place where gasoline,
oil and greases are supplied and
dispensed to the motor vehicle trade,
but no repair work performed. "
SECTION 2: That Mid section of said Ordinance No. 289, be
further amended by eliminating therefrom the definition:
"SERVICE STATION: A building where
gasoline, oil and greases are supplied
and dispensed to 'the motor vehicle
trade, also where battery, tire and
other similar services are rendered; "
and substituting therefor the following definition:
"SERVICE STATION: A building or place of
business where gasoline, oil and greases,
batteries, tires and automobile accessories
are supplied and dispensed to the motor
vehicle trade, and also where the following
services are rendered, and none other:
1. Sale and Servicing of Spark Plugs
and Batteries.
2. Tire Repair and Servicing, but no
Re-capping.
3. Replacement of Mufflers and Tail
Pipes, Water Hose, Fan Belts, Brake
Fluid, Light Blabs, Floor Mats, Seat
Covers, Wiper Blades, Arms for Wind-
shields and replacement of grease
retainers and wheel bearings.
4. Radiator cleaning and flushing.
5. Washing and Polishing.
6. Greasing and Lubrication.
7. Exchanging Fuel Pumps and installing
Fuel Lines.
8. Minor servicing or replacement of
carburetters.
9. Emergency wiring repairs.
10. Adjusting brakes and installing
exchange brake shoes.
11. Tuning engines, with the exception
of grinding valves, cleaning
carbon or removing the head of
engines and/or crank case.
SECTION 3: That Section No. 8 of Ordinance No. 289 be amended
by eliminating therefrom:
0(9) Gasoline or oil filling stations,
only upon approval and permit by
the City Council of Miami Beach; "
and substituting therefor:
"(9) Service Stations, only upon approval
and permit by the City Council of
Miami Beach, Florida. "
SECTION -: That Section No. 9 of Ordinance No. 2g9 be amended
by eliminating therefrom:
"( 22) Service stations. "
SECTION 5 : All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

Ordinance No. 625 entitled, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289 OF SAID
CITY, BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
ELIMINATING GASOLINE AND OIL FILLING STATIONS THEREFROM,
RE-DEFINING AND RE-CLASSIFYING SERVICE STATIONS, AND RE-DE-
FINING THE TERM "SERVICE STATION" , AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH" ,
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in
three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on
the 19th day of November, A. D. , 1941, and that said
Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.

my hand and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, on this the 3rd day of January, A. D. , 1942.
