AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 1,
OF ORDINANCE NO. 604 ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTAB-
LISHING OFFICIAL PAY SCHEDULES FOR ALL CLASSI-
FICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED
SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE
ACT; PROVIDING FOR ITS ADLINISTRATION AND
REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. "
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That that portion of Section 1, of Ordinance No. 604,
as amended, prescribing compensation scales for
POLICE, FIRE FIGHTING AND PREVENTION AND LIFE GUARD lines of
service, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

* A minimum rat4 of not less than ten ( 10) dollars per month
for those classifications based on a monthly scale, and of not less
than two (2) dollars per week for those classifications based on
a weekly scale, more than the rate received in the classification
from which promotion is made. Increments of increase, at the rate
of ten (10) dollars per month for those classifications based on
a monthly scale and at the rate of two ( 2) dollars per week for
those classifications based on a weekly scale, after each full year
of service but not to exceed the prescribed maximums. "
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordingnce shall become effective as of June
1, 19+1 for those employees in classifications affected
hereby, who had attained regular status on or before September 1,
1941, who did not receive at least ten (10) per cent increase
through the provisions of Ordinance No. 6014 and amendments thereto,
and notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein or therein con-
tained, each such employee shall have his salary adjusted as of
June 1, 1941 so as to receive at least a ten (10) per cent. increase.
For all other employees in classifications affected hereby, the
provisions of this Ordinance shall become effective as of February
1, 1942.

CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL PAY SCHEDULES
FOR ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT; PROVIDING FOR ITS ADMINISTRATION AND
REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREVITH" , having been passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
has been posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of
Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall in said
City, on the 23rd day of February, A. D. , 1942, and that said
Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in
accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said
City of Miami Beach.
