AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 289 OF THE CITY OF NIIAviI
BEACH, FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that portion of Section 14 of Ordinance No,
289 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, reading
as follows :
"Whenever a non-conforming use of a building has
been discontinued for a period of one (1) year
or more, such non-conforming use shall not
thereafter be re-established and the future
use shall be in conformity with the provisions
of this Ordinance."
be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows :
"Whenever a non-conforming use of a building has
been discontinued for a period of one (1) year
or more, such non-conforming use shall not
thereafter be re-established, and the future
use shall be in conformity with the provisions
of this Ordinance; provided, however, that any
use of any land or buildings in which a non-
conforming use exists as hereinabove provided,
by any branch of the military service of the
United States of America, during a state of war,
shall not be deemed, or held to be, an abandon-
ment, or discontinuance, of the non-conforming
use thus vested in said land."
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its becoming a law.

No. 655 entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 289 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA' having
been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three con-
spicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which
was at the door of the City Hall in said City, on the 20th
day of May, A. D. , 1942 and that daid Ordinance remained
posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance
with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City
of Miami Beach.
