ORDINANCE NO. 660
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, R EQUIRING ALL MERCHANTS, STORE-
KEEPERS AND/OR OPERATORS OF BUSINESSES
IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO
SWEEP, OR TO CAUSE TO BE SWEPT, THE SIDE-
WALKS ADJOINING THEIR RESPECTIVE PLACES
OF BUSINESS BEFORE TEN O 'CLOCK A. E. ON
EACH BUSINESS DAY SAID BUSINESS SHALL BE
OPERATED; PROVIDING HAT SWEEPINGS" SHALL
NOT BE SWEPT IN THE GUTTERS; PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Each and every merchant, storekeeper and/or
operator of a business in the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, shall sweep, or cause to be swept, the sidewalks
adjoining his respective place of business, at or before ten
o' clock A. Y. , on each business day said business shall be operated.
SECTION 2. The sweepings from said sidewalk shall be picked
up and shall not be swept into any gutters of
said City.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation, and/or any
operator of any business in said City, violating
this ordinance, upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
One Hundred Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City Jail of said
City for a period not exceeding thirty days , or by both such fine
and imprisonment .
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance are hereby repealed and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its
adoption.

KEEPERS AND/OR OPERATORS OF BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO SWEEP, OR TO CAUSE TO BE SWEPT
THE SIDEWALKS ADJOINING THEIR RESPECTIVE PLACES OF BUSINESS
BEFORE TEN O'CLOCK A. M. ON EACH BUSINESS DAY SAID BUSINESS
SHALL BE OPERATED; PROVIDING THAT SWEEPINGS SHALL NOT BE
SWEPT IN THE GUTTERS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF
SAID ORDINANCE" Having been passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been
posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of
Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall
in said City on the 16th day of July, A.D. , 19 +2 and that
said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
