OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EN-
TITLED, P°AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFI-
CIAL PAY SCHEDULES FOR ALL CLASSIFI CATIONS
OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PURSUANT
TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT;
PROVIDING FOR ITS ARMINISTRATION AND REPEAL-
ING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH" BY ADD-
ING THERETO, IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 6
THEREOF, AN ADDITIONAL SECTION TO BE KNOWN
AS SECTION 6i• AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO CORRECT INEQUALITIES WITHIN LIMITS DE,
FINED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 677 of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, be and. the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto, after Section 6 thereof, an addition-
al section to be known as Section 6i, and reading as follows:
"Section 62: It is declared to be the purpose of
this ordinance to provide for an in-
crease in wages and salaries of the employees of
the classified service, such increases to be in an
amount approximately equal to ten (10%) percent of
the salaries and wages being received by said employees
on November 1st, 1942, and notwithstanding the salaries
and wages set forth and fixed in this ordinance, the
City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered to make
such adjustments and grant such increases as may be re-
quired to correct inequalities, provided, however, that
in no event shall an adjustment so made by the City
Manager result in a salary and wage payment greater than
the salary or wage fixed by this ordinance, plus ten
(10%) percent thereof, and in no event greater than the
maximum fixed for the classification by this ordinance,
and as to those classifications in which salary or
wages are determined by length of service, in no event
greater than the maximum fixed for the classification
after four years of service. °
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall go into effect as
of November 1st, 1942.

of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me
in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City
on the 4th day of March, A. D. , 1943 and that said Ordinance
remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in
accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of
the said City of Miami Beach.
