AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALA..: Y RATES
FOR EMPLOYEE:' THEODORE KENDRICK, H. F.
MORRISON, HERMAN RUDMAN AND ERNEST DROSDICK
FROM JUNE 1, 1941, TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
THIS ORDINANCE AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT
OF THE DIFFERENCE BETEEEN THE RATES FIXED .
BY THIS ORDINANCE AND THE AMOUNTS ACTUALLY
PAID THE SAID EMPLOYEES .
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 604 and amendments thereto, the
City Council of the City of Miami beach, Florida, attempted to
grant, as of June 1, 1941, to employees of regular status in the
Police, Life Guard and Fire Prevention and Fighting Divisions,
increases in salaries of approximately 10% over and above the
salaries to which such employees were and would be entitled under
the terms of Ordinance No. 485; and
WHE=ryEAS, by Ordinance No. 677 of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, the City Council attempted to grant, as of November 1st,
and Fire Prevention and Fighting Divisions, increases in salaries
of approximately 10% over and above the salaries to which such em-
ployees were end would be entitled under the terms of Ordinance
No. 485, together with the increases aforesaid which it was the
intent of the Council to grant by Ordinance No. 6o4 and amendments
thereto; and
WHEREAS, it now appears to the City Council that in certain
instances the object of Ordinance No. 604 and amendments thereto,
and the object of Ordinance No. 677, have not been attained,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That notwithstanding the terms of Ordinance No. 604,
as amended, and the terms of Ordinance No. 677, the
salary rate per month of Theodore Kendrick, a Fire Engineer em-
ployed in the Fire Prevention and Fighting Division, be and the
same is hereby retroactively fixed as follows :
June 1, 1941, to Jan. 10, 1942 $185.00
Jan. 11, 1942, to July 31, 1942 205.00
Aug. 1; 1942, to Oct. 31, 1942 215.00
Nov. 1, 1942, to the effective date
of this ordinance and thereafter
unless changed or modified by ordi-
nance 236. 50
SECTION 2. That notwithstanding the terms of Ordinance No 604,
as amended, and the terms of Ordinance No. 677, the
salary rate per month of H. F. Morrison, a Fire' Engineer employed
in the Fire Prevention and Fighting Division, be and the same is
retroactively fixed as follows :
June 1, 1941, to Aug. 31, 1941 $155 .00
Sept .l, 1941, to July 31, 1942 205.00
Aug. 1, 1942, to Oct. 31, 1942 215.00
Nov. 1, 1942, to the effective date
of this ordinance andthereafter
unless changed or modified by ordi-
nance 236.50
SECTION 3. That notwithstanding the terms of Ordinance No. Lo4,
as amended, and the terms of Ordinance No. 677, the
salary rate per month of Herman Rudman, a Fireman ehployed in the
Fire Prevention and Fighting Division, be and the same is hereby
retroactively fixed as follows :
June 1, 1941, to Feb. 28, 1942 p185.00
Mar. 1, 1942, to Oct . 31, 1942 205.00
Nov. 1, 1942, to the effective date
of this ordinance and thereafter un-
less changed or modified by ordinance 225.50
SECTION 4. That notwithstanding the terms of Ordinance No. 604,
as amended, and the terms of Ordinance No. 677, the
salary rate Per week of Ernest Drosdick, a Life Guard employed
in the Life Guard Division, be and the same is hereby retroactively
fixed as follows:
June 1, 1941, to Oct. 31, 1942 $44.00
Nov. 1, 1942, to the effective date
of this ordinance and thereafter
unless changed or modified by Ordi-
ance 48.40
SECTION 5. That the 'ity Manager and the City Clerk be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to issue vouchers
for and to make payment to employees heretofore mentioned
in Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 hereof, in amounts sufficient to cover
the difference between the amounts actually paid to said employees
from June 1, 1941, to the date upon which this ordinance becomes
effective and the amount to which each of said employees is entitled
under the retroactive rates fixed in said Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4
hereof.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall become effective im: ediately upon
its Passage and posting as required by law.

IZING THE PAYMENT OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RATES
FIXED BY THIS ORDINANCE AND THE AMOUNTS ACTUALLY PAID
THE SAID EMPLOYEES", having been passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
has been posted by me in three conspicuous places in the
City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the
City Hall in said City on the 17th day of June, A. D. ,
1943, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period
of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements
of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
