AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 1 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 6 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL
PAY SCHEDULES FOR ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSI-
TIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY OF.
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT; PROVIDING FOR ITS
ADMINISTRATION AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH, "
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 That that portion of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 677 of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as follows:
"LIFE GUARD

* A minimum rate of not less than ten (10) dollars per month for those
classifications based on a monthly scale, and of not less than two ( 2)
dollars per week for those classifications based on a weekly scale, more
than the rate received in the classification from which promotion is made.
Increments of increase at the rate of ten (10) dollars per month for those
classifications based on a monthly scale, and at the rate of two (2) dollars
per week for those classifications based on a weekly scale, after each full
year of service, but not to exceed the prescribed maximums. "

* (provided, however, that if, as and- when a Life Guard Lieutenant shall,
by direction of the City Manager, perform the duties of Beach Patrol
Captain, by reason of the absence from duty, for any reason except
vacation or sick leave, of said Beach Patrol Captain, then and in that
event, the maximum pay per week for said Life Guard Lieutenant shall be
$60.00)

SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall become effective on
November 1st, 1943.

OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED: AN CR1aNANCE OF THE
CITY OF MIAI+I BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFIC IAL PAY
SCHEDULES FOR ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE
CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT;
PROVIDING FOR ITS ADMINISTRATION AND REPEALING ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," having been passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Miami Peach, Florida, has
been posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City
of Miami Peach, one of which was at the door of the City
Hall in said City on the 18th day of November, A. D., 1943,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at
least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of
the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.

my hand and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, on this the 21st day of December, A. D.,
