RESOLUTION NO. 467
A R 3SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA , CALLING AN
MECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITT'E'D
TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THS ISSUANCE OF
BONDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHERTAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beacn,
Florida deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the
amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election
notice provided by this resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE B3 IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMII BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That subject to the authorization by
the duly registered and qualified voters or electors of said
City participating in an election which is hereby called and
which shall be held in the City Hall of said City on the 21st
day of January, A. D. 19 .4 , the negotiable coupon bonds of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida , shall be issued in the amounts
and for the several purposes set forth in the election notice
provided by this resolution.
Section 2. That a special election is hereby called
and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami
Beach , Florida , from eight o'clock ,,. M. until sundown on the
21st day of January, A. D. 1924 , for the purpose of submitting
to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City the light separate questions as to whether the bonds men-

tioned in each separate question shall be authorized , which
eight questions are set forth in the election notice provided
by this resolution.
Section 3. That the City Clerk, who is also Super-
visor of registration open the registration books of said City
for said election from ten o' clock A. M. until five O'clock
P. M. each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until January
10*, 1924 , for the purpose of 401stering those person '` o

are qualified to register for such election.
Section 4. That M. H. 1 arr, George W. Babbitt,
and J. R. Kelly be and they are
hereby appointed inspectors and J. H. Bowlin is here-
by appointed clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting
said election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the
City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor.
Section 5. That said inspectors and clerk shall
certify the result of said election to said City Council within
five days after the holding of said election.
Section 6. That thirty days notice of said elec-
tion be given by the Mayor of said City by posting the notice
hereinafter provided for once each week for thirty days in three
conspicuous places in said City of Miami Beach, Florida; at the
City Hall , Post Office and at Hardie' s Casino , and by publish-
ing the same once each week for thirty days in the Miami News
Metropolis , a newspaper published in the City of Miami , Florida,
and of general circulatinn in the said City of Miami Beach.
Section 'i. That said notice of election shall be
in substantially the following form:
"NOTICE IS HEREBY GIV 1N that an election has been
called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida ,
and will be held at the City Hall in said City on the 21st day
of January, A D. 1924 , at which there will be submitted to

the duly registered and qualified voters of said City the fol-
lowing questions:
(a) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida , issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $100 ,000. for the purpose
of extending and developing its water works system?
( b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida , issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 14 ,000. for the purpose
of erecting a bridge within the said City over Collins Canal ,

betWeen the east and west lines' of Meridian Avenue—as shown on
a plat reocrded in Plat book 6 at Page 26 of the .Public Records
of Dade county, r'lorida, extended North across said uollins
Canal?
( c ) Shall the city of Miami Beach, .lorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 050,000. for the purpose
of paying the uity' s share of the cost of constructing sanitary
sewers?
(a) Shall the city of Miami Beabh, r'lorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 020,000. for the purpose
} of paying the uity' s share of the cost of constructing storm
sewers?
( e) Shall the laity of Miami Beach, . lorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 040,000. for the erection
of a fire station, equipping and furnishilig the same with a
fire engine and other fire fighting apparatus and acquiring a
site therefore and installation of a fire alarm system?
( f) Shall the city of Miami Beach, r'lorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 025,000. for the purpose of
developing and improving its public parks?
(g) Shall the city of Miami Beac , r'lorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 40.8 ,000. for the purpose
of constructing a bulkhead along the North side of vollins danal,�
a water way within said city, from the Alton itoad Bridge easterly
to the west golf course bridge to prevent the caving of the north
side of Uollins canal and injury to Dade Boulevard?
(h) Shall the city of Miami Beach, elorida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 040,000. for the purpose of
paving its streets?
Inspectors and a clerk have been appointed to conduct
said election at said time and place.
The registration books will be open from ten o ' clock

A. M. to five o' clock P. 11. , every day , Sunday excepted, from
this date until January 10 , 1924 , for the purpose of regis-
tering persons qualified to register for such election.

Section 8. That the form of ballot to be used at
said election shall be in substantially the following form:

(Here shall be inserted each of the propositions set forth in
the election notice contained and provided for in this resolu-
tion, and at the end of each proposition as set forth there shall
be printed a short dotted line ( ) followed by the word "Yes"
and a short dotted line ( ) followed by the word "No". )
Section 9. This resolution shall be effective im-
mediately upon its passage and adoption.
