Resolution 662 mem sew RESOLUTION NO._662 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING ANE 'ACTION AT WHICH THF+;RE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE TEE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID .CITY IN THE SU:1 OF 4177,000.00 r'OR THE VARIOUS PURPOSES THEREIN STATED WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice pro- vided by this resolution: .LIOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That subject to the authorization by the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are free holders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, participating in an election which is hereby called and shall be held in the City Hall of said city on the 16th day of September, A. D. , 1924, the negotiable coupon bonds of the City a' Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the amounts and for the several purposes set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution. aection 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City hall in the city of Miami Beach, r'lorida, from eight o ' clock A. M. , until sundown on the 16th day of September, A. D. , 1924, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said city, the five separate questions as to whether the bonds mentioned in each separate ques- tion shall be authorized, which five questions are set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution. -1- G. 01011 4 01 s :4 7 section 3. That the City Clerk, who is also Supervisor of Registration, open the registration books of said City for regis- tration from ten o ' clock A. u . , to five o ' clock 2. M. , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until September 6th, 1924, for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to register for such election. Section 4. what I. Grist, and Mrs. Rose aeiss be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and :thel Stephenson is hereby appointed clerk for the purpose of holding and co,;ducting said election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. section 5. That said inspectors and clerk shall certify the result of said election to said city Council within five days after the holding of said election. Section 6. That thirty days notice of said election be given by the mayor of said City by posting the notice hereinafter k provided for once each week for thirty days in three conspicuous places in said City, to-wit: at the City ball; at the Post Of- fice and at Aardie' s Casino , and by publishing the same once each week for thirty days in the Miami .Laity News, a newspaper publish- ed in the City of Miami, r'lorida, and of general circulation in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. section 7. That said notice of election shall be in sub- stantially the following form: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Lliami Beach, A:lori3a , and will be held at the city Hall in said City on the 16th day of September, A. L. , 1924, at which there will be submitted to the duly regis- tered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders there- in and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal prop- erty within said City, the following questions: ( a) Shall the City of laia.mi .Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the spun of 4125 ,000. for the purpose of extending and developing its water works system? -2- 11 lb) Shall the City of Miami .beach; r'lorida, issue negotia- ble coupon bonds in the sum of 05,-000 for the purpose of equipp- ing and furnishing its fire stations with hose and other fire fighting equipment, and the iastalling of fire alarm boxes? ( c) Shall the City of Miami beach, r•lorida, issue negotia- ble coupon bonds in the stun of 025,000. for equipping its Sani- tary .Uepartment with a barge, garbage cans and motor trucks? (d) Shall the City of Miami . each, .lorida, issue negotia- 11 ble coapon bonds in the sum of 07,000. for the purpose of pur- chasing motor trucks, surveying instruments and other equipment for the street and sewer departments of said City? ( e) Shall the City of Miami .each, rlorida, issue negotia- ble coupon bonds in the sum of ;15,000. for the purpose of erect- ing on real estate now owned by said City, a machine shop and storage building for the street and sewer departments of said City? Inspectors and a clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place. Wile registration books will be open from ten o' clock A. M. , to five o' clock P. M. , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until September 6th, 1924, for the purpose of registering persons qualified to register for said election. LOUIS F.
