AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 11.00.18 OF PART XI
OF THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR TEMPORARY JOURNEYMAN
ELECTRICIAN' S CERTIFICATES AND THE RENEWAL THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 11.00.18 of Part XI of the Building Code
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as fol-
lows:
"When and if, in the discretion of the Board of Elec-
trical Examiners, it becomes advisable, Temporary
Journeyman Electrician' s Certificates may be issued
by the said Board to electrical workers for a period
of not more than thirty consecutive days, provided
such period does not extend beyond any regular elec-
trical examination date, and provided that the said
electrical worker shall have been employed as elec-
trical helper on electrical work in the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, for a period of thirty consecutive
working days prior to the date of his application for
such Temporary Journeyman' s Certificate, and further
provided that such application shall have attached
thereto, a written recommendation of his electrical
cualifications by the master electrician supervising
the work of such electrical worker. "
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

of Miami Beach, Florida, for a period of thirty -consecu-
tive working days prior to the date of his application
for such Temporary Journeyman Electrician' s Certificate,
and provided further that such application shall have
attached thereto a written recommendation of his
electrical qualifications by the master electrician
supervising the work of such electrical worker. Tempor-
ary Journeyman Electrician' s Certificates shall be
renewable as of course for additional thirty day periods
throughout the duration of World War II unless there
shall exist grounds for revocation as set forth in
Section 11.00. 21 hereof. "
SECTION 2; Whereas the welfare of the City is in peril this ordi-
nance is declared to be an emergency measure and the
requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate
days is hereby dispensed with.
SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared by the City
Council to be necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace and safety and
shall go into effect immediately upon its passage.

JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN' S CERTIFICATES AND THE RENEWAL
THEREOF. " , having been passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been
posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 21st day of October,
A. D. 1944, and that said Ordinance remained posted for
a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the
requirements of the City Charter of the said City of
Miami Beach.

Florida, on this the 30th day of November, A. D. 1944.
