ORDINANCE NO. 798 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 592 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, KNOWN AS THE "MIAMI BEACH BUILDING CODE". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 592 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, known as the "Miami Beach Building Code", be and the same is hereby amended by adding immediately after Section 6.22.06 thereof, an additional section to be known as Section 6.22.07, and to read as follows: "6.22.07 The grade of the ground under buildings of joist or suspended slab construction, GRADES having no basements, shall be raised above UNDER the surrounding lot area grades not less BUILDINGS than six (6) inches in order to prevent the accumulation and standing of ground, storm or tide water under such buildings. Plans for future raising of lots shall be taken into account in planning the grade of the ground under such buildings; or the Chief Building Inspector may establish grades under such buildings based on present or future street or sidewalk grades abutting the property." SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and posting as required by law. PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of February, A.
