RESOLUTION AO. 861
THE RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLIdG AN
ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED
TO A VOTE 'THF MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF
BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF 02.84,000.00
FOR THE VARIOUS PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION
STATED.
Whereas , the CITY COUNCIL of the city of Miami
Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said
City in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth
in the election notice provided by this resolution:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT 'RESOLVED BY THE (JITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF 1vilAMl BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That subject to the authorization of the
duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are
freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real
or personal property within said uity, participating in the
election which is hereby called and shall be held in the City
Hall of said City on the 25th day of March, A. D. , 1925, the
negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
shall be issued in the amounts and for several purposes set
forth in the election notice provided by this resolution.
Section 2. That a special election is hereby called
and directed to be held at the city Hall in the city of miami
Beach, Florida, from eight o' clock,A. L. , until sundown on the
25th day of march, A. D. , 1925, for the purpose of submitting
to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City, who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay
- taxes on real or personal property within said city and the nine
separate questions as to whether the bonds mentioned in each
separate question shall be authorized, which nine questions are
set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution,
Section 3. '.ghat the uity Olerk, who is also super-
visor of registration, open the registration books of said city
for registration from ren o' clock A.1i. , until rive o' clock . a. ,
each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until March 15th,1925 ,

for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified
to register ,for such election.
Section 4- That Jose-oh Monfils , Mrs. J. H. Wei;s
rind Horatio Lloyd ,be and they are
hereby appointed inspectors and Milton H. Farr is
hereby appointed clerk for the purpose of holding and conduct-
ing said election at the time and place aforesaid, which nares
the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor.
Section 5, That said inspectors and Clerk shall cer-
tify the result of said election to said City Council within
five days after the holding of said election.
Section 6- That thirty days notice of said election
be given by the Mayor of said City by posting or causing the
posting of the notice hereinafter provided for at least thirty
days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous
places in said City, to wit: at the City Hall, at the Post Office
and at Hardie' s Casino and by publishing the same once each week
and Metropolis
for thirty days in the Miami Daily News/ a newspaper published in
the City of Miami, Florida, and of general circulation in the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, there being no newspapers published in the
City of Miami Beach, Florida.
Section 7- That said notice of election shall be in
substantially the following form:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that an election has been called
by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,and will
be held at the City Hall in said City on the 25th day of March,A.D,
1925 , at which there will be submitted to the duly registered and
qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein and who
are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within
said City, the following questions;
( a) Shall the City of Miami Beach,Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 475 ,000.00 for the purpose
of paving its streets?
( b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4 20,000.00 for the
purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of constructing
Sanitary Sewers.
( c) Shall the City of Miami Beach,Florida,issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 017 ,000.00 for the
purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of constructing
storm sewers?
( d) Shall the City of Miami Beach,Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 420,000.00 for the
of
purpose/constructing sanitary sewers?
( e) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida,issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 36000.00 for the purpose
of developing and improving its public parks?
( f) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 075,000 for the purpose
of purchasing real estate /or the erection of a machine shop
and storage building for the street and sewer departments of
said City?
(g) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $30,000 for the purpose
of equipping its sanitary department with a barge and motor
truck?
( h) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $ 30,000 fpr the purpose
of equipping and furnishing its fire stations with hose and
f're
other fighting equipment , a hook and extension ladder truck and
the installation of fire alarm boxes?
( i) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $11,000 for the purpose of
paying the City's share of the cost of constructing a bulkhead in
Indian Creek, a waterway within said City?
Inspectors and clerk have been appointed to
conduct said election at said time and place.
Registration books will be open from ten o' clock
A.M. , until Five o ' clock P. M. , each day Sunday excepted, from
this date until March 15th, 1925 , for the purpose of registering
persons qualified to register for said election.

Section 8- That the form of ballot to be used at said
election shall be in substantially the following form:

set forth in the election notice, provided for in this resolu-
tion and at the end of each proposition as set forth,there shall
be printed a short dotted line( ) followed by the word
#YES" and a short dotted line ( ) followed by the word
"NO") .
Section 9- This resolution shall be effective immed-
iately upon its passage and adoption.
