Ordinance 963 ORDINANCE NO. 963 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 789 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OlvFICIAL CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSI- FI'ED SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, and PROVIDING COMPENSATION THEREFOR, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SrVICE ACT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINIS- TRATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH" . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 789 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended, by adding thereto, im- mediately after Section 2 thereof, a new section to be designated Section 22, which new section shall read as follows: "SECTION 2 : Notwithstanding ally of the pro- visions, schedules, rates or items relating to maximum compensation as set forth in Sec- tion 1 of this Ordinance, there shall be paid as additional cost of living compensation to each employee in the classified service, other than emergency or casual employees, on and after October 1st, 1950, additional wages or salary based upon the following provisions: a. There shall be added to the computed pay for each employee on a monthly rate, ten dollars 010.00) for each half month period, less eighty cents ($ .30) for each normal work day in that period for which no compensation is paid. b. There shall be added to the computed pay for each employee on a weekly rate, four dollars and sixty-three cents C1,4.63) for each weekly period, less eighty cents (0 .80) for each normal work day in that period for which no compensation is paid. c. There shall be added to the computed pay for each employee on an hourly rate four dollars and sixty-three cents (4 L�.63) for each weekly period, less ten cents (gip .10) for each hour less than forty-six ( 46) for which compensation is paid in that week. The additional compensation provided for in this section shall be ap }1icable to all payments of salary and wages paid for service rendered on and after October 1st, 1950." D. 1950, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
