RESOLUTION NO. 986
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS TO THE CANVASS
OF TAT+; RETURNS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
IN SAID CITY MARCH 25, 19 25.
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City heretofore passed
a resolution authorizing the issuance of bonds of said City in the
sum of Two hundred eighty-four thousand Dollars for the purposes set
forth in the several questions hereinafter stated and in said reso-
lution called a special election to be held in said City on March
25 , 1925 for the purpose of submitting said questions to the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders
therdiin and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal
property within said City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida:
Section 1. That said City Council has this day publicly
canvassed the returns of the aforesaid election, which canvass was
made solely, exclusively and entirely from the returns of certifi-
cates of the inspectors and clerk who held and conducted said elec-
tion, and this City Council acting as a canvassing body has found:
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $75,000.00
for the purpose of paving its streets, " 16 votes were cast, of
which 16 voters voted Yes and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $20,000.00
for the purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of construct-
ing sanitary sewers", 17 votes were cast of which 17 voters voted
Yes and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 017,800.00
for the purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of construct-
ing storm sewers" , 17 votes were cast, of which 17 voters voted Yes
and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $20,000.00 for
the purpose of constructing sanitary sewers", 17 votes were cast ,
of which 17 voters voted Yes and 0 voters voted No.

That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 46,000.00
for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks"
17 votes were cast, of which 17 voters voted Yes and 0 voters voted
No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of : 75,000.00
for the purpose of purchasing real estate for the erection of a
machine shop and storage building for the street and sewer de-
partments of said City" 16 votes were cast, of which 16 voters
voted Yes and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $30,000.00
for the purpose of equipping its sanitary department with a barge
and motor truck" 16 votes were cast, of which 16 voters voted Yes
and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 00,000.00
for the purpose of equipping and furnishing its fire stations
with hose and other fire fighting equipment, a hook and extension
ladder truck and the installation of fire alarm boxes" 16 votes
were cast, of which 16 voters voted Yes and 0 voters voted No.
That upon the question "Shall the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 011,000.00
for the purpose of paying the City's share of the cost of con-
structing a bulkhead in Indian Creek, a water way within said
City" 17 votes were cast, of which 16 voters voted Yes and 1
voter voted No.
and that a majority of the votes cast upon each of the aforesaid
questions was for the issuance of said bonds and said City Council
does hereby declare the result of said election upon each of said
questions to be for the issuance of said bonds in the aggregate
sum of Two hundred and eighty-four thousand Dollars.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of March, A. D. , 1925.
