AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS "THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that portion of Section 17, sub-section 1, of Ordinance
No. 289 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as follows:
"c . No dock, wharf, dolphin or structure of any kind
shall be erected, constructed or reconstructed, so as
to extend into Biscayne Bay, a distance greater than
twenty-five (25) feet, or so as to extend into Indian
Creek, a distance greater than fifteen (15) feet or
so as to extend into Collins Canal a distance
greater than three (3) feet or so as to extend into
any other waterway in the City of Miami Beach a
distance greater than five (5) feet,except that with
special permission of the City Council docks, wharves,
dolphins or similar structures may extend from a busi-
ness or multiple-family lot into Biscayne Bay, a
distance not greater than one hundred twenty-five
(125) feet. No part of any such dock, wharf, dolphin
or structure shall be higher than two (2) feet above
the top of the adjoining sea wall or the established
grade for the sea wall if none exists. "
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

lot into Biscayne Bay a distance not greater than one
hundred twenty-five (125) feet, and may extend from a
business lot into Biscayne Bay a distance not greater
than four hundred twenty-five (425) feet. No part of
any such dock, wharf, dolphin or structure shall be
higher than two (2) feet above the top of the adjoin-
ing sea wall or the established grade for the sea wall
if none exists. "
SECTION 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its
passage and posting as required by law.

No. 1158, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 'THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA",
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three
conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which
was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 16th day
of March, 1955, and that said Crdnance remained posted for a
period of at least thirty days in accordance with the require-
metts of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 18th day of May, A. D. 1955.
