AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO . 789 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL
CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED
SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AND PROVIDING COMPENSATION THEREFORE, PURSUANT
TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THIS ORDINANCE
AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. "
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That that portion of Section 1 of Ordinance
No . 789 of the City of Miami Beach, Florida
reading as follows :

The compensation provided for Fireman, Fire Engineman,
Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain and Battalion Fire Captain
is computed on the basis of being on duty 120 hours in each
two consecutive calendar weeks, and if any of said employees
shall be on duty in excess thereof he shall be compensated
for such overtime at a sum per hour equal to One Two Hundred
and Sixtieth (1/260th) of his monthly salary . "

Engineman, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain and Battalion

SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed .
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect October 1,
1955•

No. 1175, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 789 ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL CLASSIFICATIONS OF
POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING COMPENSATION THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH", having been passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been
posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami
Beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall in said
City on the 8th day of September, 1955, and that said Ordinance
remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in
accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the
said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 19th day of October, A. D. 1955.
