AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 678,
ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A
SCHEDULE OF SALARIES TO BE PAID TO THE
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AND FIXING THE
RATES THEREOF."
WHEREAS pertinent provision of Ordinance No. 678
hereinabove referred to makes provision for the salary of
the City Attorney, together with monthly allowances for one
full-time and two part-time Assistant City Attorneys, and
secretarial assistance, and
WHEREAS said Assistant City Attorneys and secretary,
by the provisions of the Civil Service Act of the City of
Miami Beach, are not, and may not, be members of the Classified
Service of the City of Miami Beach, and hence are not eligible
for membership in the General Employees Pension System of the
City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS,by reason of the foregoing, the City Attorney
has been and is obligated to pay Social Security and Federal
Unemployment Taxes for said assistant City Attorneys, and for
secretarial assistance from and out of his specified salary,
thereby resulting in a pro tanto diminution thereof, contrary
to the purpose and intent of said Ordinance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 That Sub -section N of Section 1 of Ordiance No. 678
of the City of Miami Beach, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"N. City Attorney Salary per month $1,310.00
Together with a monthly allowance to
the City Attorney for secretarial
assistant in the sum of 447.00
and
together with a monthly allowance to
the City Attorney for one full-time
and two part-time Assistant City Attorneys
in the sum of 1,600.00"
SECTION 2 That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 67$, ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A
SCHEDULE OF SALARIES TO BE PAID TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AND FIXING THE RATES THEREOF,"
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 1st day of March, 1961
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on
this the 5th day of April, 1961.
