AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 25-81 OF THE MIAMI
BEACH CITY CODE PERTAINING TO REGISTRATION
AND FINGERPRINTING OF CERTAIN WORKERS
EMPLOYED IN MIAMI BEACH, BY REQUIRING
EMPLOYEES OF CHILD CARE FACILITIES TO BE SO
REGISTERED AND FINGERPRINTED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 . That Section 25-81 of the Miami Beach City Code
pertaining to the registration and fingerprinting of certain
workers employed in Miami Beach is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Every person employed in any night club, any place
handling liquor , beer or wine in any form, places of
amusement, dancing schools or studios , hotels, rooming
houses, apartment houses, delivery services ,
restaurants, bath clubs , bathhouses , solariums,
filling stations , garages , places where food and
vegetables are sold, drugstores, sundry stores ,
shoeshine parlors or stands, shoemaker shops, places
where narcotics are used or administered, parking
lots, dry cleaning and laundry establishments, jewelry
stores, banks, savings and loan associations, window
cleaners, beauty parlors, establishments for massage,
employment and travel agencies; and all night
watchmen, itinerant gardeners and tree trimmers,
persons employed in the business of exterminating
insects and vermin, photographers working in night
clubs , drivers of sightseeing buses , drivers of buses
used for transportation to or from race tracks,
solicitors for subscriptions to magazines, salesmen
and saleswomen, whether working from door to door or
in stores , department stores or similar
establishments, caddies, newspaper delivery boys over
the age of seventeen, special police officers and
domestic servants, taxicab drivers , vending machine
operators, and charter boat operators, and employees
of child care facilities, in the city, are hereby
required to register within forty-eight hours from the
time of their employment, in a book of registration to
be kept by the chief of police and to also be
fingerprinted and photographed . It shall be unlawful
for any employer to allow any of such persons to
remain in such employment longer than forty-eight
hours, unless within such forty-eight hour period such
person shall have registered and shall have been
fingerprinted and photographed as hereinbefore

SECTION 2 .
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 .
If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
SECTION 4. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect 10 days after its adoption, on
November 17 1984 .
