AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
1605 BEING THE UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES
SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PRESCRIBE A COMPENSATION
PLAN FOR OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN THE
UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO CREATE OR RE-CREATE
SAID OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH AN ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ESTABLISH A SCHEDULE OF SALARIES THEREOF
THAT ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BUDGET
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION FOR THAT
FISCAL YEAR; PROVIDING FOR FUTURE COST
OF LIVING INCREASES FOR THESE POSITIONS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH AND AT THE SAME TIME AS
SUCH NEGOTIATED INCREASES ARE PROVIDED
TO MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI BEACH EMPLOYEES
BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That applicable sections of Ordinance 1605 be hereby amended to authorize
the City Manager to prescribe a compensation plan for offices and
positions in the Unclassified Service; to authorize the City Manager to
create or re-create said offices and positions in accordance with an
organizational plan; to authorize the City Manager to establish a schedule
of salaries thereof that are in accordance with the budget adopted by the
City Com mission for that fiscal year; to provide for future cost of living
increases for these positions in accordance with and at the same time as
such negotiated increases are provided to members of the Miami Beach
Employees Benevolent Association.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall become effective 10 -_ days after adoption on
March 2 , 1985. Provisions to become effective
6/24/85 (commencement of nearest pay period to 7/1/85)
