RESOLUTION NO. 1259 •
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP MIAMI BEACH,
PLO.S IDA:
Section 1: That application has been made by the
Board of County Commissioners of Dade County, Florida, for
i a waiver of objections to the. construction of a causeway
across Biscayne Bay from Everglades Avenue , or Seventy-ninth
Street, on the west side thereof, to Normandy Isle on the
east side thereof, as shown on a set of five drawings numbered
1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, 4 of 5 and 5 of 5, prepared by County
.Engineer Hobart Crabtree , to accommany application to the War
Department for permit for said construction; by North Venetian
Islands Company for a waiver of objections to the construction
of certain bulkheads, fills and bridges in North Biscayne Bay
as shown on a drawing prepared by the North Venetian Islands Com-
pany and designated Sheet 2 of 3, to accompany application to
the War Department for •permit to said construction; and by Nor-
mandy Beach Properties, Inc. , for a waiver of objections to the
construction of certain fills, bulkheads and bridges at Normandy
Isle in North Biscayne Bay, as shown on a set of three drawings
prepared by the W. E. Brown Engineering Company for Normandy
Beach Properties and designated 1 of 2, 1 of 3 and 2 of 3, to
accompany application. to the War Department for permit for said
construction.
Section 2: That this City Council does hereby waive all
objections to all of said construction and does hereby authorize
Claude A. Renshaw, as City Manager of said City, to sign and
deliver in behalf of said City, a written waiver or waivers of
objections to the constructions aforesaid of said three projects,
if said constructions are acceptable to him.

The Board met pursuant to adjournment, present
Chairman J.D.Redd, Commissioners J.W.`arey, Hugh Peters, W.Ceci1
Watson, Dan L. Killian and Deputy Clerk ry .E.Norton.
Commissioner J.V .Carey offered the following reso-
lution and rr:oved its adoption. Motion was seconded by Commission-
er Dan L. Killian and upon a vote was duly carried:
In the matter of application of the North venetian
Islands Company to this board for the Board to waive objections
to the construction of Islands in the Biscayne Bay in the vicinity
of Little River, came up before the board for further considera-
tion, and the Board having considered the proposition set forth
in letters to this Board by said 'ompany, it was ordered that the
5 terms submitted to this Board in said matter are satisfactory to
the Board with the following additions:
1. That the proposed right-of-way for the road across
the Bay where the same cross the said islands, and also across the
Bay bottom owned by said °ompany for viaduct spaces, together with
all improvements now or hereafter constructed by said company
thereon, be conveyed to Dade bounty, and the deeds delivered to
the blerk of this board at once upon said Islands being constructed
such conveyances to be subject to the usual reversion of the right-
of-way in case the same so conveyed shall hereafter be discontinued
by law as a street or highway.
2. That the said North Venetian Islands Company pay
for the construction and hard-surfacing of the roadway over and
across its saia islands, to be constructed in such manner and under
such specifications and of such width as this board may prescribe,

provided, that such moneys as the Board shall find available
after otherwise completing the construction contemplated by the
recent bond issue in said District shall be applied to the
hard-surfacing of said right-of-way, to that extent reducing the
amount necessary to be expended thereon by said company.
b. That said Borth venetian islands company, agree
that on the strip of land, on its said island or islands , lying
north of the right-of-way so conveyed by it to the County , of
approximately some two or three feet wide , no house or structure
shall be built -so as to obstruct or interfere with the view of
the Bay to the North from the said right-of-way.
4. That said North venetian Islands company, dedicate
to the County for the use as a public park, a strip of land not
less than one hundred feet in width from east to west , across
one of the said islands constructed or to be constructed by it,
adjacent to the island constructed or filled in by the Normandy
Beach rroperties Corporation, a similar dedication to be made by
said last named Company, so as to make a strip across said island
not less than two hundred feet in width,from east to west ; pro-
vided, a strip of lana thirty feet in width on each side or edge
of part strip or plot shall be and is hereby reserved for road or
street purposes.
b. That , theofficers of said idorth venetian Islands
Company being present before the . oard , and signifying the assent
of the said Company to the foregoing, by letter, filed with the
Clerk of this Board it is further resolved:

That authority is hereby granted to the said North
Venetian islands company to proceed with the bulk-heading aid
filling of islands in Biscayne Ba` in said county in the vicinity
of Little river, and the construction of connecting viaducts, as
per plans, dated November 2, 1:32b, and submitted to thie ooard for
consideration, and that a copy of this resolution be furnished
to the said Company by the clerk of this Board duly certified.
Moved by Commissioner Huh Peters that autnorit is
hereby granted to the North venetian islands company to proceed
with bulk-heading and filling of islands in iseayne Bay in Dade
County in the vicinity of Little paver, and the construction of
connecting viaducts , as per plans submitted to the war department ,

tion and moved its adoption. Lotion was seconded by Commissioner
;uan L. Killian and upon a vote was duly carried:
In the matter of application of the Normandy Beach
Properties corporation to this hoard for the Loard to waive ob-
jections to the construction of islands in the .iscayne Betz, in the
vicinity of Little •1.iver, came up before the i oard for further
consideration, and the .0oard having considered the proposition set
forth in letters to this loard by said company, it was ordered
that the terms submitted to this noard in said matter are satis-
factory to the ioard, with the following additions:

Corporation pave in the manner indicated by its letter of Nov-
ofber 20th, to the board and plats accompanying same , the said
roadways so conveyed to the county.
3. That said 'rhe norrnandy beach iroperties Corpora-
tion dedicate to the bounty for the use as a publicpark, a strip
of land not less than one hundred feet in width from east to
west, across one of the said islands constructed or to be construc-
ted by it, adjacent to the island constructed or filled in by
the north Venetian Islands company , a similar dedication to be
made by the last named Company, so as to make a strip across said
island not less than two hundred feet in width, from east to west ;
provided, a strip of land thirty feet in width on each side or edge
of said Park strip or plot shall be and the same is hereby reserved
for road or street purposes.
4. That , the officers of said The Normandy Beach
Properties Corporation being present and signifying the assent
of said Corporation to the foregoing by letter, duly filed with
the Clerk of this Board, thereupon, it was further resolved:
That , authority, is hereby granted to the said The
Normandy Beach Properties L'orporation to proceed with the bulk-
heading and filling of the island called the Isle of Normandy
in Biscayne Bay in the said County in the vicinity of Little
River, and that certain Island and adjoining one of the North
Venetian Islands, as per plat dated November 2, 1925, and sub-
mitted to this lioard for consideration, and that a copy of this
resolution be furnished to the said Company bythe Clerk of this
Board, dui;;, certified.
Moved b . Commissioner, Hugh Peters that authority
is hereby granted the Normandy Beach Properties corporation to
proceed with bulk-heading and filling of the island called the
Island of Normandy, in ziscay ne Ba;, in bade County in the vicinity
of Little River, and that certain island adjoining one of. the
North venetian Islands as per plat dated November 2nd, 1925 and
submitted to this Loard for consideration, copies of which are
to be filed with the War Department. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner .Cecil i'.atson and upon a vote was duly carried.
