A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
RECONVENING THE CHARTER REVIEW AND REVISION
BOARD, PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF
RESOLUTION NO. 92-20458, AS AMENDED BY
RESOLUTION NO. 92-20483; SAID BOARD TO BE
RECONVENED FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR.
WHEREAS, on February 19, 1992, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution
No. 92-20458, establishing a new Charter Review and Revision Board; and
WHEREAS, on April 8, 1992, the Mayor and City Commission amended Resolution No.
92-20458, establishing new requirements for the Board; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 94-21399 sunset the Charter Review and Revision Board; and
WHEREAS, at their regular meeting on March 6, 1996, the Mayor and City Commission
referred an issue, calling for a special election to amend the Miami Beach City Charter by providing
for term limitations to the offices of Mayor and City Commissioner, to the Board, thereby
necessitating that it be reconvened.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission reconvene the Charter Review and Revision Board, pursuant to the requirements of
Resolution No. 92-20458, as amended by Resolution No. 92-20483; said Board to be reconvened
for a period of one (1) year from the date of adoption of this resolution..

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RE-CONVENING OF THE
CHARTER REVIEW AND REVISIONS BOARD FOR A PERIOD OF
ONE YEAR.

The Administration recommends approval of the resolution.
BACKGROUND:
The City Commission has referred two items to the Charter Review and Revision Board. The
Board's term of existence expired last November. Therefore, it is necessary to recreate this board.
CONCLUSION:
The Administration recommends approval of the resolution recreating the Charter Review and
Revision Board for a period of approximately one year.
