98-22866 RESO RESOLUTION NO. 98-22866 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING MS. PATRICIA BECERRA AS A MEMBER OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD TO REPRESENT GROUP II EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, a Certificate of the Clerk and Inspectors who conducted an election on August 18, 1998, for the purpose of electing a member of the Personnel Board Group II of the City employees to serve on the Personnel Board; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have examined the Certificate and herein wish to accept the results of the election; and WHEREAS, there were a total of 96 votes cast; with 57 votes for patricia Becerra, 37 votes for Jessie Barnes, and 02 void ballots. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Certificate of the results of the Group II Personnel Board election are hereby accepted and that Ms. Patricia Becerra, having received the highest number of votes cast, is found to be duly elected to represent Group II employees for a term to expire July 31, 2001. PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of September, 1998. PATRICIA BECERRA AS A MEMBER OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD TO REPRESENT GROUP II EMPLOYEES. ADMINISTRA TION RECOMMENDATION Adopt the Resolution. BACKGROUND Pursuant to Ordinance No. 93-2868, an election was held to fill a vacancy on the Personnel Board to represent Group II employees (clerical and executive positions). An election was held on August 18, 1998. The ballot contained two candidates. A total of 96 votes were cast as follows: 57 votes for Ms. Patricia Becerra; 37 votes for Jessie Barnes; and 2 void ballots. Ms. Patricia Becerra received the highest number of votes and is duly elected to represent Group II employees on the Personnel Board for a term to expire on July 31, 2001.
