NEW EDUCATIONA PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
The Police Department, in conjunction with Florida International University, has created a new educational
program for city employees that will be taught at the Police Department Headquarters building. Employees
will be able to study for either a Bachelors or Masters Degree.
F.I.U. counselors, admissions and registration staff will come on site to provide information and register
students. In addition, Ms. Florence Cohan to provide information and forms for the City's Tuition
Reimbursement Program.
Tentatively, classes are scheduled from January 8 to Apdl 26, 2002 as follows:
Tuesdays - 5:00 p.m.-7:40 p.m. - 3 Classes to choose from:
1 Masters class (Leadership)
I Bachelors class in Public Administration (Intro to Public Administration)
1 Bachelors class in Criminal Justice (TBA)
Thursdays - 5:00 p.m. -7:40 p.m. 2 Classes to choose from:
I Bachelors class in Public Administration (Intro to Public Administration)
1 Bachelors class in Criminal Justice (Overview Criminal Justice System)
*Saturday - Masters class in Public Administration (Intro to Public Administration).
*Based on the response at the orientation session, this class may be rescheduled to Thursday aftemoons.
