A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
CONSENTING TO AND CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT
OF JULIO C. GRAVE DE PERALTA AS PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, the City Manager has appointed Julio Grave de Peralta as Public W orl:s
Director of the City of Miami Beach; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4,02 of the City of Miami Beach Charter, as well: liS
Section 2-3 of the City of Miami Beach Code, the City Manager has the power to appoint directo 'S

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Pursuant to the requirements of Article IV, Section 4.02 of the City Charter and Section 2 3
of the City Code, it is recommended that the Mayor and the City Commission adop': tIe
attached Resolution consenting and confirming the appointmeni:: of Julio C. Grave de Peralta
as the City of Miami Beach Public Works Director.
BACKGROUND:
Julio Grave de Peralta has over 27 years experience in construction and engineering pDjeGt
management, more than 20 of which was with Florida Power and Light, Co.. He was1irld
by the City of Miami Beach in 1994 as a Special Projects Coordinator and was promot4ld to
Construction Management D,vision Director in 1995. Mr. Grave de Peralta has had a vuiety
of responsibilities in this field, from surveying and soil testing to managing the constru::ti m
of a $30 million/10-story facility. During his career, he has gained well-rounded expel'ti~e:
managing and controlling diverse facilities construction and re-engineering projects, includilg
planning, designing, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, permitting, site supervisic n,
administering contracts, and supervising planners, interior designers, financial analysts ald
real estate specialists. Mr. Grave de Peralta has the proven ability to lead and mana~e
simultaneous complex, high-visibility projects.
Mr. Grave de Peralta's additional credentials include: B. S. in Civil Engineering, Master of
Engineering, Registered Professional Architect, Certified Special Inspector, and Real Est;:. te
License.
