The attached charts show the ongoing progress of the Human Resources Department. Following are some highlights of the information included in this report: . The City had 288 hires in 2001. This is a 13.4% increase over year 2000. 59.4% Hispanic 16.3% African American 22.9% White 1.4% Asian & American Indian 36.5% Female . 86 employees were promoted in 2001. 38.4% Hispanic 33.7% African American 22.1% White 5.8% Asian & American Indian 33.7% Female . The City had a total of 1,745 employees at year-end 2001. 39.4% Hispanic 19.8% African American 38.9% White 1.9% Asian & American Indian 28.2% Female . The City processed 8,126 resumes and applications in 2001. . 1,806 participants attended 137 training courses in 2001.
