ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14A OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA BY REVISING
SCHEDULE OF FEES SET FORTH THEREIN FOR THE
COLLECTION OF GARBAGE AND TRASH AND PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION THEREOF AS AN EMERGENCY
ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance 14A-12 of Chapter 14 of the Code of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 14A-12. Schedule of fees for collection
disposal of garbage and trash.
A. Residence (single-family)
B. Duplex
C. Apartments
D. Hotels, rooming houses
E.

The director of public works, with the approval of
the city manager, shall have the authority to adjust base
fees upwards or downwards, as the case may be, where, in
particular instances, the accumulation of refuse exceeds
or falls below that for which the base fee is established."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida having found and determined that a public
emergency exists affecting life, health, property or public
safety, this Ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency measure
pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 of the Charter of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective October 1, 1972.

Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the
26th day of September, 1972,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
