SUBJECT: ORDINANCE GR • NTING A 5% INCREASE FOR CLASSIFICATIONS
COVERED BY THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS
(LA.F.F.)
The City and the I.A.F.F. agreed in the current Union Contract to a formula
for determining an across-the-board increase, if any, for the period January 1,
1988 to September 30, 1988. Based upon the results of our external audit, the
financial condition of the City was such that the formula yielded a 5% wage
increase to be granted in accordance with the contractual obligation.
The cost for this increase for the balance of the fiscal year is $280,000.00
and funds are available in salary accounts in the Fire Department.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Ordinance granting the 5% increase for classifications covered by
the I.A.F.F.
