AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.
789, SO AS TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL CLASSIFICATIONS
OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR RETROACTIVE
COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS OF CLASSIFICATIONS
REPRESENTED BY AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY
AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES; ADDING A NEW SECTION WHICH
PROVIDES THAT THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE AMERICAN
FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES,
DATED FEBRUARY 21, 1979 BE MADE PART OF SAID
ORDINANCE, AND PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF SAME AS
AN EMERGENCY MEASURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Salary Ordinance No. 789 of the City of Miami Beach be and the
same is hereby amended, effective April 1, 1979, by providing for a
six dollars ($6.00) a week increase to the classifications listed
below so that said classifications are compensated as of said date
within the range set forth below respectively for each,

SECTION 5. That Ordinance No. 789 of the City of Miami Beach be and the same is
hereby amended by adding a new Section thereto to follow Section 1.4
and to be numbered 1.5 to read as follows:
"Section 1.5: That the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City
of Miami Beach and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal
Employees, dated the 21 day of February, 1979, under the Collective
Bargaining Law of the State of Florida, the provision of which are
incorporated herein by reference, be and the same is hereby made a part
of this Ordinance as though set forth herein in full and in haec verba.
Any conflict between the provisions of this Ordinance and said Collective
Bargaining Agreement shall be resolved by resorting to the terms and
provisions of said Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the proper
executive administrators and officials of the City be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to fully implement and execute the terms
of said Collective Bargaining Agreement upon the effective date of this
Ordinance."
SECTION 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7. That if any portion of this ordinance shall be declared invalid, the
remaining portions shall have the same force and effect as though such
invalid portion or portions had not been included.
SECTION 8. That the City Commission has found and determined that a public emer-
gency exists affecting life, health, property or public safety, this
ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency measure and shall go into
effect immediately upon its adoption.
