RESOLUTION NO. 1426 :
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
FLORIDA:
1. That, whereas, officers of the United States Coast
Guard, in enforcing the Volstead Act, have , during the past six
months, indriged in considerable shooting in Biscayne Bay, pre-
sumably at violators of the law, but in such a manner that it
greatly endangers the lives of people in boats, or in vehicles
on the Causeway across Biscayne Bay, and on the mainland of Miami
Beach;
2. BE IT RESOLVED, that this matter, with such affidavits
thereto as may be available, be submitted to General Andrews of
the Enforcement Division, at Washington, D. C. , with the request
that instructions be given to the proper persons to refrain from
such shooting and to at all times , exercise their duties in such
manner as not to, even indirectly, jeopardize the lives of persons.
3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
with such evidence mentioned hereinabove, be transmitted by the
City Manager to General Andrews.
