A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON D ECE:1BZR 21st, 1926.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
Section 1. That for the purpose of holding and con-
ducting the general election of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, on December 21st, 1926, three election boards be
provided, the registration books of said City to be divided
into three parts alphabetically, and that for said purpose
M. H. Parr, Gapta.in 4. W. Farnham, Jno. R. Brownell, A. Go
Zlliott, Thomas G. Hall, Joseph G. Nagengast, C. Boykin
Reese, Clayton E. Shappell, and M. L. Woodward
be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and 0-ler Millard,
'dont 3. Johnston c: d Charles P. Sheeler
are hereby appointed clerks which names the City Clerk shall
certify to the Mayor.
Section 2. That said general election be held at any
convenient place at the City Hall in the City of Mimi Beach,
Florida.
Section 3. That said election shall be held from 8 o'clock
A.M. Until sundown on December 21, 1926, for the purpose of
electing a Mayor and five City Councilmen, all of which persons
shall hold office for the term of two years and/or until their
successors are regularly elected and qualified, except that the
two Councilmen who shall receive the highest number of votes at
such election shall hold office for the term of four years aid,
or until their successors are regularly elected and qualified.
Section 4. That thirty days notice of said election shall
be given by the Mayor of said City by posting the notice herein-
after provided for thirty days in three conspicuous places in
the City of Miami Beach, to-wit, at the City Hall, at the Post
Office and at the Police Station, and shall be published once a
week for a period of thirty days next preceding such election
in the Miami Beach Beacon, a newspaper published in the City
of Miami Beach, Florida.
Section 5. That said inspectors and clerks shall certify
the result of said election to said City Council immediately
after holding of said election.
Section 6. " That said notice of election shall be in
substantially the following form:
"Notice is given that a general election will be held at
the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from
8 o' clock A.M. until sundown on December 21, 1926, for
the purpose of electing the following officers of said
City:
One parson to fill the office of Mayor
Five persons as members of the City Council,
P.•••• the two receiving the highest number of votes as Cou04iimen
to hold office for k term of four years. All other
officers so elected shell hold office for the term of
two years.

conducting said election at said time and place.
The registration books of a aid City will be open for
the purpose of registering any person qualified to vote at
such election until December 11, 1926.
Persons properly registered who have raid their 1924
and 1925 poll taxes on or before November 27, 1926, -All be
qualified to vote in said election.

Section 7. That the form of ballot to be used at
said election shall hereafter be Drovided for.
