AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 789, BEING THE
CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING A SEVEN PERCENT
(77) INCREASE FOR CLASSIFICATIONS COVERED BY THE
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS BARGAINING
UNIT: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING
FOR PASSAGE AS AN EMERGENCY MEASURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the following lines in Section III of Ordinance No. 789
as heretoforeamended, which reads as follows:

SECTION 2. That Section 1.3 of Ordinance No. 789 be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
That the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Miami Beach
and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1510, dated the
29 11-day-ef-3t1neg-49 8; 1st day of January, 1980, under the Collective
Bargaining Law of the State of Florida, the provisions of which are
incorporated herein by reference be and the same is hereby made a part
of this Ordinance as though set forth herein in full and in haec verba.
Any conflict between the provisions of this Ordinance and said
Collective Bargaining Agreement shall be resolved by resorting to the
terms and provisions of said Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the
proper executive administrators and officials of the City be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to fully implement and execute the
terms of said Collective Bargaining Agreement upon the effective date
of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 789 be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
The City Manager is hereby authorized, effective October 1, 1973, to
approve payments of Clothing Allowance for Detectives, and for other
officers of the uniformed force who are regularly detailed to perform
their duties in plain clothes, and who are specifically recommended
for such allowance by the Police Chief. Such clothing allowance shall
not exceed Forty Dollars ($40.00) per month. The City Manager is
authorized to approve payment of a uniform allowance for employees
in the classification of Industrial Nurse not to exceed Ten Dollars
($10.00) per month.
The City Manager is hereby authorized, effective October 1, 1974,
to approve payment for uniform cleaning and maintenance for members
of the uniformed division of the Police Department, who are
specifically recommended for such allowance by the Police Chief.
Such allowance shall not exceed Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per month.
The City Manager is hereby authorized, effective-Febrearr4;-1W3;
effective January 1, 1980, to approve payments for uniform
cleaning and maintenance for employees assigned to the Fire
Prevention Bureau, all lieutenants and captains, and bargaining
unit personnel assigned to Fire Rescue Division of the Fire

in the amount of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per month.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be amended retroactive to January 1, 1980
(said date being the date of execution of agreement with
International Association of Firefighters).
SECTION 6. This ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency ordinance under
the provisions of Section 9 of the City Charter.
