Ordinance 80-2205ORDINANCE NO. 80-2205 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 789, BEING THE CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING A SEVEN PERCENT (77.) INCREASE FOR CLASSIFICATIONS COVERED BY THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES BARGAINING UNIT; PROVIDING INCREASE IN FRINGE BENEFITS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE RETROACTIVE TO DECEMBER 31, 1979. 3E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the following lines in Section I of Ordinance No. 789 as heretofor amended, which reads as follows: SECTION 1: The following titles shall constitute the Classification Plan, and the titles together with the prescribed pay schedules shall constitute the Compensation Plan, both as provided for in the Civil Service Act and the Personnel Rules, for the Classified Service of the City of Miami Beach, Florida. Compensation in the Classified Service effective January 16, 1980 shall not be less than the prescribed minimum nor more than the prescribed maximum, except as otherwise provided herein, I. Any conflict between the provisions of this Ordinance and said Collective Bargaining Agreement shall be resolved by resorting to the terms and provisions of said Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the proper executive administrators and officials of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to fully implement and execute the terms of said Collective Bargaining Agreement upon the effective date of this Ordinance. SECTION 3 That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 789 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 9: The City Manager, upon recommendation of the Department Head and the Director of Personnel, may authorize compensation not more than five percent (5%) in excess of the maximums prescribed for those employees who are designated as "lead workers" within a given work section of the Cityu exeept-that employees-in-tike-e/assi€ieatien-ef-Egtitipment-Servieexia.n-eche-are-designated-as vlead-werkersu-xray-be-antherizcd-ttp-tie-ten-percent-{1W70-in-execss-ef-tike-maxixmy rate-fee-eripieyeea-in-that-eiassifieatienr SECTION 4 That Section 10 of Ordinance No. 789 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 10: (a) Effective Botcher -1;-395; October 1, 1979, employees in classifications who have contractual agreement for a shift differential shall receive a shift differential of up to fettrteen-eents-{34 4 fifteen cents (15c) per hour for work performed on shifts beginning after 3:00 P.M., and at or before 11:00 P.M.; and a shift differential of eighteen--eents-{384 up to nineteen cents (190 per hour for work performed on shifts beginning after 11:00 P.M., and before 6:30 A.M. (b) The City Manager, upon recommendation of the Department Head and the Personnel Director, may authorize a shift differential of up to fourteen -cents -{14I) fifteen cents (150 per hour to employees in other classifications for work performed on shifts beginning after 3:00 P.M., and at or before 11:00 P.M.; and a shift differential of eighteen-eeats-418t4 up to nineteen cents (190 per hour to employees in other classifications for work performed on shifts beginning after 11:00 P.M., and before 6:30 A.M. SECTION 5 That Section 12 of Ordinance No. 789 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 12: Employees in classifications of Carpenter and Electrician and-Egttipxtent Meehanie shall receive a tool allowance of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per month; employees in the classifications of Park and Golf Course Mechanic and Bedyxtan Equipment Bodyworker shall receive a tool allowance of ten-deiiars-01ATA9) twelve dollars and fifty cents ($12.50) per month. Employees in the classification of Equipment Attendant shall receive a tool allowance of ten dollars ($10.00) per month. Employees in the classification of Equipment lechanic shall receive a tool allowance of twenty dollars ($20.00) per month. Employees in the classification of Water and Sewer Mechanic shall receive a tool allowance of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per month. Employees in other classifications where personal tools are required may be paid up to fifteen dollars ($15.00) per month upon recommendation of their department head and approval of the City Manager. SECTION 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. This ordinance shall go into effect retroactively to December 31, 1979, (commencement of nearest pay period to January 1, 1980). PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of March :1980.
