SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CLASSIFIED SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 789
Attached, hereto, for your approval and adoption are amendments
to Classified Salary Ordinance No. 789 providing for the following
changes:
1. Three and one-half percent (3'%) salary increase to
those classifications covered by the Fraternal Order
of Police bargaining unit in accordance with their
contract with an effective date of October 6, 1980
(commencement of nearest pay period to October 1, 1980)
2. Two percent (2%) salary increase to those classifications
covered by the Miami Beach Employees Benevolent Association
bargaining unit in accordance with their contract with an
effective date of October 6, 1980 (commencement of nearest
pay period to October 1, 1980)
3. Two percent (2%) salary increase to those classifications
(Classified) in the City of Miami Beach that are not
covered by any bargaining unit.
Historically, these employees' cost of living increases
have been governed by the Miami Beach Employees Benevolent

increase to 120 employees in the non -bargaining unit
category for the next fiscal year is approximately $38,000.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: The 1980-81 proposed budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption by the City Commission.
