A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT
DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS FROM MIAMI BEACH
MEDICAL GROUP, LLC, T-MOBILE USA, INC, AND APZ
INVESTMENTS, LLC, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $9,500, FOR
THE CITY'S ANNUAL VETERANS DAY PARADE TO BE HELD
ON NOVEMBER 11, 2017, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO MAKE SUCH
EXPEPNDITURES OR REIMUBRSMENTS CONSISTENT WITH
THE AFORSTATED EVENT AND PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, the City of Miami Beach ("City") will stage
the City's Annual Veterans Day Parade, which celebrates the men and women who have served
in the U.S. Armed Forces to defend and protect our country; and
WHEREAS, the City's Veterans Day Parade draws thousands of residents and tourists to
the City to enjoy great food and music and to celebrate and honor the commitment and
sacrifices of our military veterans; and
WHEREAS, City staff has worked diligently to identify funding sources to offset the costs
of producing the City's 2017 Veterans Day Parade; and
WHEREAS, City staff has secured partnerships, through donations and sponsorships in
the total amount of $9,500, for the City's 2017 Veterans Day Parade from Miami Beach Medical
Group, LLC, T-Mobile USA, INC, and APZ Investments, LLC.; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission authorize the
City Manager, or his designee, to make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures of
the aforestated donations in furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated event and
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the City of Miami Beach to accept donations and
sponsorships from Miami Beach Medical Group, LLC, T-Mobile USA, Inc, and APZ Investments,
LLC, in the total amount of $9,500, for the City's Annual Veterans Day Parade to be held on
November 11, 2017, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make such
expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the aforstated event and purpose.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of October, 2017.

RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution.
ANALYSIS
On November 11, 2017, the City of Miami Beach will stage the City's Annual Veterans Day Parade,
which celebrates the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces to defend and
protect our country.
The Veterans Day Parade draws thousands of residents and tourists to the City to enjoy to celebrate
and honor the commitment and sacrifices of our veterans
The event is open to the general public at no charge. Marketing efforts for this event includes, but is
not limited to PSAs, digital and printed ads. The media plans included news and local programming
coverage, including MB77, the Miami Beach government channel, City of Miami Beach e-briefs, as
well as television, and newspaper calendars around South Florida.
The City secured the following sponsors for these events at varying levels of support:
o Miami Beach Medical Group, LLC
o T-Mobile USA, Inc
o APZ Investments, LLC
CONCLUSION
Staff worked diligently to identify funding sources to off-set the costs of producing these programs.
The Administration recommends the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing the acceptance
of these donations and sponsorships, from Miami Beach Medical Group, LLC, T-Mobile USA, Inc,

and APZ Investments, LLC, in the total amount of$9,500, for the City's Annual Veterans Day Parade
to be held on November 11, 2017, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make such
expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the aforstated event and purpose.
