AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1335 OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REGULATING THE
GRANTING OF ANNUAL LEAVE FOR CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES;
THE CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE SAME; PROVIDING A
METHOD FOR THE COMPUTATION THEREOF, AND THE
COMPENSATION PAYABLE THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that portion of Section 1, item 5, of Ordinance No. 1335 which reads
as follows:
"Accumulation or Forfeiture of Annual Leave and Sick Leave:-
An employee may accumulate annual leave and sick leave up
to a total combined maximum of 360 hours plus 64 hours for
each year of service with the City. Any hours of leave in
excess of above maximum will be forfeited on the last day
of the last pay period of the calendar year."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

(b) Effective with the first pay period ending in the
year 1975, employees must use all annual leave during
the pay period year in which such leave is earned.
Detailed administrative regulations will be issued
prior to January 1, 1975 relative to this restriction
on accumulation."
SECTION 2. That that portion of Section], item 12, of Ordinance No. 1335 which reads
as follows:
"Other Leaves with Compensation:-
With the approval of the City Council, other leaves of
absence with pay may be granted by the City Manager in
addition to regularly allowed leave when such is recommended
by the appointing officer for the purpose of promoting
efficiency or other good causes."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Other Leaves with Compensation:- }
(a) With the approval of the City Council, other leaves
of absence with pay may be granted by the City Manager
in addition to regularly allowed leave when such is
recommended by the appointing officer for the
purpose of promoting efficiency or other good causes.
(b) All employees, after six months of continuous service
with the City, will be entitled to use one day of
bereavement leave upon the death of a member of
their immediate family effective with the first pay
period in 1975. Bereavement leave will increase to
two days effective with the first pay period in 1976.
Detailed administrative regulations defining immediate
family and procedures for using bereavement leave
will be issued prior to January 1, 1975."
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage
and posting as required by law.

Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me at the door of the City Hall
in said City on the 13th day of December 1974,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said
City of Miami Beach.
