RESOLUTION
No. 1593
WHEREAS, a great disaster has visited our sister stotes
in the Mississippi River Valley, with consequent lose
of life, property, and attendant distress and suffering, a
.WHEREAS, this community, by reason of a recent experience,
realizes to the fullest extent, both collectively and in-
dividually, the gravity of such a situation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, as the authorized representatives
of the people of this city, that there be extended to
the people of Mississippi and Arkansas heartfelt sympathy
in their distress, regret for their loss, encourage-
ment
encoura e-
ment for their future problems of rehabilitation,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be transmitted im-
mediately One Thousand Dollars, each, to the order of
the respective governors of Mississippi and Arkansas,
for such useas they may see fit in the alleviation of
suffering and distress among their str iken people.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be transmitted to the governors of Mississippi
and Arkansas, respectively.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS TWENTY-FIFTH DAY OF APRIL, IN THE
YEAR Of OUR LORD ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN.
