Resolution 1728 sem moo04114 RESOLUTION 1728 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SYMPATHY ON THE DEATH OF OUR ESTER FELLOW CITIZEN, MR. JOHN S. COLLINS, FATHER OF MIAMI BEACH WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has taken from us on February 10, 1928, our esteemed first citizen, the father of Miami Beach, JOHN S. COLLINS, and WHEREAS, the vision of this pioneer who came to the site of Miami Beach when it was uninhabited, a half century ago , is 10 now reflected in our prosperity and beauty, and WHEREAS, this community recognizes the masterful leadership, the unconquerable courage, the constructive genius, the in— nate love for his fellow man, of JOHN S. COLLINS, to whom 11 our citizens bow in gratitude for the unlimited good he has accomplished in giving us a happy, prosperous and beautiful City in which to dwell, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, in special session assembled, that we hereby express our sympathy to the family and to the community so dear to our departed leader, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon a special page of our Minute Record and that a copy be sent to the immediate family of our late friend, JOHN S. COLLINS. PASSED AND UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED on this the lith day of February, A.
