RESOLUTION NO. 1795
WHEREAS, the population of Miami Beach has grown far
.4• more rapidly than was contemplated at the time when our
Post Office was established, and
WHEREAS , the receipts of the Miami Beach Post Office
have advanced well above the amount that entitles us to a
Post Office of the First Class, and
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the City Council of
. Miami Beach that a Federal Building is needed to house a
Post Office that shall take care of our City' s need both
now and in the years to comer
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach urges that steps be taken to
secure a Federal appropriation for a Post Office for the
City of Miami Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolu-
tion be furnished the Postmaster General of the United
States , the United States Senators end Congressmen from
Florida, and such others as may be deemed advisable by
the City Manager.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of June , A. D. , 1928.
