RESOLUTION NO. 1936
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A PUBLICITY
CAMPAIGN FOR THE 1929-1930 SEASON, PRO-
VIDING FOR A DIRECTOR OF SUCH CAMPAIGN,
AND PROVIDING COMPENSATION FOR SUCH
DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, Steve Hannagan has submitted to the City Council
the following proposal:
"As Director of the News Service , I will di-
rect the publicity campaign throughout the
year, intensively during the period preced-
ing our natural season and throughout its
duration; prepare necessary booklets; pre-
pare the advertising campaign for magazines
and newspapers; be of any and all possible
assistance on general publicity in the East
and North during the summer as well as estab-
lish contacts for next winter for the gross
sum of $5,000 payable in any suitable allot-
ments during November and December, 1929, and
January, February and March 1930."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. That said above proposal be accepted, and that
the said Steve Hannagan be employed to conduct said publicity
campaign for the season 1929-1930, as outlined above, and at a
compensation of $5,000 gross, to be paid in ten semi-monthly
allotments, the first allotment to be paid November 1, 1929,
and the last allotment to be paid on or before March 24, 1930,
and with the further understanding that Mr. Hannagan is to be
on hand to direct the said publicity campaign during the period
beginning October 20, 1929 and ending March 24, 1930.
Section 2. That said City Council express herewith their
thanks and appreciation to Mr. Hannagan for the splendid and
efficient manner in which the Publicity Department has been con-
ducted

Following the presentation of a report of the puclicity
department for the season just closing, and the plans for
the 1929-1930 season, I suggest the following proposal :
As director of the News Service, I will direct the
publicity campaign throughout the year, intensively during
the period preceding our natural season and throughout its
duration; prepare necessary booklets; prepare the advertising
campaign for magazines and newspapers; be of any and all
possible assistance on general publicity in the East and
North during the summer as well as establish contacts for
next winter for the gross sum of .; 5,000 payable in any
suitable allotments during November and December 1929, and
January, February and March' 1960.
For your information it is my plan to have an Eastern office
this summer with some of the staff now associated with me
at Miami Beach. Throughout the year Miami Beach wi 1 have
the use of this personnel to assist 'n any way to i rther
the success of Miami Beach.
