AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 45-20.2 OF THE
MIAMI BEACH CITY CODE TO INCREASE THE SANITARY
SEWERS SERVICE CHARGE IMPOSED BY THE CITY UPON
ALL PREMISES CONNECTED TO OR USING THE CITY'S
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, FROM ONE DOLLAR AND
THIRTEEN CENTS PER THOUSAND GALLONS TO ONE
DOLLAR AND TWENTY-FOUR CENTS PER THOUSAND
GALLONS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 45-20. 2 (Sanitary Sewer Charges)
(second sentence) of the Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Such Sanitary Sewers Service Charge shall be in an
amount equal to one dollar and thirtccn twenty four
cents per thousand gallons of water delivered to
the consumer as shown by the water bills rendered
in accordance with this Chapter. "
SECTION 2 : That the sanitary sewer service charge as set forth
in Section 1 of this Ordinance is to be applied to
all accounts on meter readings on or after January
15, 1991 October 1, 1991.
SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY:
If any section, sub-section, sentence, clause,
phrase, or portion of this Ordinance is, for any
reason, held invalid or unconstitutional by any
court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall
be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 4: REPEALER:
Repeal all other ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE:
This ordinance shall become effective 10 days after adoption on
January 19, 1991. October 5 , 1991.

SUBJECT: MIAMI—DADE WATER AND SEWER RATE PASS THRU
INCREASE
We have been notified by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Authority
that effective October 1, 1992, it is anticipated that rates for
volume users of water and sewer will be increased as follows:
Sewer increase of 9.5%
Water increase of 13 . 1%
In anticipation of these rate increases and in order to coincide the
pass thru increase to avoid any loss to the City, it is recommended
that the attached two ordinances be approved.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends adoption of the attached two (2)
ordinances for rate increases to non-municipal users of the water
and waste water systems in the City of Miami Beach.
