11E4ITRI.1SOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that we hereby instruct the City
Clerk to send the following message to the Federal Radio
Commission:
"THIS IS TO ADVISE THE COMMISSION OF THE FULL
OFFICIAL SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
STOP THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SINCERELY HOPES
THE COMMISSION WILL PERMIT STATION W I 0 D
TO CONTINUE ON ITS PRESENT FREQUENCY AND FULL
TIME AND ASSURES THE COMMISSION THIS STATION
FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS HAS SERVED THE PUBLIC
INTEREST CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY OF THIS
ENTIRE COMMUNITY STOP STATION W I 0 D HAS BEEN
OUR SOLE MEANS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER OF OBTAIN-
ING HIGH GRADE NATIONAL PROGRAMS AND HAS BEEN
READY AT ALL TIMES TO SERVE THE CITY AND ITS
MOST RECENT CONVINCING SERVICE HAS BEEN ITS
BROADCASTING OF STORM WARNINGS AND COMPLETE
INFORMATION EVERY HALF HOUR AND AT MORE FREQUENT
INTERVALS DURING THE TIME THIS LAST HURRICANE
WAS FIRST REPORTED OFF THE COAST OF FLORIDA UP
UNTIL THE TIME ALL DANGER WAS PAST STOP W I 0 D
WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR WARNING THOUSANDS
OF PEOPLE IN THE REMOTE SECTIONS OF SOUTH
FLORIDA AS WELL AS LOCALLY IN TIME TO PROTECT
LIFE AND PROPERTY BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF THE
STORM" .
