Resolution 2099 RESOLUTION NO. 2099
WHEREAS, we are advised that a recent re-alloca-
. tion plan of the Federal Radio Commission requires
Broadcasting Station WIOD , located at Miami Beach , to
reduce their power from 1000 watts to 500 watts , to di-
vide their present time with a station at Orlando,
Florida, and to broadcast over a new and unsatisfactory
wave length , said new ruling to mo into effect November
1st , 1929 , and,
WHEREAS , we are advised by the management of said
Station WIOD that this curtailment of their present
status will undoubtedly necessitate their closing down
of the station, and,
WHEREAS , we are advised by the Federal Radio Com-
mission that a hearing of this case will be held before
their body in Washington, D. C. , on October 29th , 1929 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI 'BEACH , FLORIDA, that we res-
pectfully request and urge said Federal Radio Commis-
sion to reconsider their recent ruling, as it affects
the operation of said Station 'IIOD after November 1st ,
allowing them to continue on their present status ,
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we hereby appoint
and constitute Yr . John Oliver La Oor•ce , or Colonel
E. H. R. green or Mr. Thomas R. Shipp, FLA our offi-
cial representative before said Federal Radio Commis-
sion, to represent us at said hearing on October 29th.
