RESOLUTION NO. 2282
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, ON THE DEATH OF MAYOR
JOHN P. GRETHEN .
WHEREAS, in His infinite wisdom the Supreme
Architect of the Universe has seen fit to sudden-
ly remove from us on June 29th, 1930, our esteemed
fellow-citizen of the Greater Miami area, Mayor
John P. Grethen of the City of Hialeah, and
WHEREAS, the deceased has for a number of
years been one of the foremost developers of this
area by reason of his untiring activities, result-
ing in industrial developments, and his services
rendered his own community, beginning with its in-
corporation, and
WHEREAS, the citizenship of this entire area
feels that in the passing of this man we have lost
a sincere friend and a most valued citizen,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR
AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLOR-
IDA,
LORIDA, in special session assembled, that we hereby
express our sincere sympathy to the wife and en-
tire family of the late John P. Grethen, and our
sincere regrets to the City Council of the City of
Hialeah on the passing of their associate, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution
be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and
that copies thereof be sent to the family of said
deceased and to the City Council of the City of
Hialeah.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of June,
