RESOLUTION NO , 221.9
DISTRICT BP-=1 WATERFRONT IMPROVEMENT
BP-4
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the construction of the following described improvement is here-
by ordered to be made; the City Council hereby setting forth its inten-
tion to proceed under Section 29 of the City Charter:
BP-4 The construction of a steel seawall, in earn ease-
ment along the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, together
with the necessary fills and dredging, Easterly of the
following described "Base Lines" i
Beginning at a point which is on the Northerly line of
Lot 1, Block 39 of the Miami Beach Improvement Company' s
Ocean Front Subdivision, according to the Amended Map
of the Ocean Front Property of the Miami Beach Improve-
ment Company and two hundred forty-six and five-tenths
feet Easterly of the Center line of Collins Avenue,
runaing thence in a Southerly direction to a point
which is on the Southerly line o 'said Lot 1 and two
hundred forty-six and nine-tenths feet Easterly of the
said center line of Collins Avenue; also beginning at
a point which is on the Northerly line of Lot 4 of said
Block 39 and two hundred forty-seven and six-tenths feet
Easterly of the said center line of Collins Avenue,
runaing thence in a Southerly direction to a point which
is on the Southerly line of said Lot 4, and two hundred
forty-seven andnine-tenths feet Easterly of the said center
line of Collins Avenue;
As said Avenue, Property, Lots, Block, Line and Ocean
are shown on Plats recorded in Plat Book No. 5 at Pages
7 and 8 of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida;
Which said steel seawall with said necessary fills and
dredging the City Council hereby deems to be a special
benefit to all of the following described property,
Lots 1 and 4 of Block 39, all of The Miami Beach
Improvement Company' s Ocean Front Subdivision, accord-
ing to the Amended Map of the Ocean Front Property of
the Miami Beach Improvement Company, recorded in Plat
Book No. 5 at Pages 7 and 8, of the Public Records
of Dade County, Florida;
And the total cost of the said Steel Seawall with
necessary fills and dredging, abutting on the above
described properties shall be fully assessed against the
said properties.
The City Engineer is hereby directed to prepare and to file with the
City Clerk plans and specifications of said Improvement and an
estimate of the cost thereof, including an estimate of the cost of
the expenses of preliminary and other surveys, the inspection and
superintendence of the work, the preparation of plans and specifications
and estimates, the printing and publication of notices and proceedings,
the preparation of bonds, interest during construction, legal services,
abstracts, etc, , and any other expenses necessary and proper in conduct-
ing the proceedings and work herein provided for; and the estimated
amount to be assessed against each front foot of abutting property.

This Irnpcovement shall be designated in all proceedings, assessments
and. bonds as Waterfront Improvement BP-4, and the property against
which assessments therefor ma.y be made for the cost thereof shall be
designated as District BP--4.
